What is boring.now?

boring.now is a collective progress bar on the internet. it slowly crawls from 0% to 100%, nudged forward by anyone willing to pay $1 per bump. each dollar moves the bar by 0.01%. there are no prizes, no points, and no purpose. just the bar and the people who push it.

How it works

the bar starts at 0% and inches toward 100%. every $1 payment bumps it forward by 0.01%. anyone in the world can contribute. the bar updates in real time for all viewers. a leaderboard tracks the top spenders. when the bar hits 100%, the site celebrates for 60 seconds, records the finisher, and resets to 0%. one full cycle takes exactly 10,000 bumps. $10,000 worth of nudges.

Pricing

a single nudge costs $1 and moves the bar by 0.01%. bundles are available: a shove is 10 bumps for $10, a push is 50 bumps for $45 (10% off), and a throw is 100 bumps for $80 (20% off). all payments are processed securely through Stripe.

The experience

boring.now features a 24/7 live video stream of absolutely nothing playing in the background. the site is deliberately minimal. a progress bar, a bump button, and a leaderboard. no accounts required. no sign-ups. just pick a display name and nudge the bar forward. boring.now is an internet art project and social experiment exploring collective action, digital absurdism, and the willingness of strangers to push a bar that doesn't need to be pushed.
